We think it is pretty evident where our and most rider's preferences are in regards to bottom bracket interfaces. Some frame companies may never go back to a threaded shell but the next best thing is having a bottom bracket that threads into itself in a press-fit shell. If you have a BB86/92 frame that has lunched its bearings, tired of the creaking every time you stand up to put some power to the pedals, or want to start a new build off right, reach for the Wheels Manufacturing BB86/92 and put that groaning bottom bracket to rest. This bottom bracket directly replaces all OEM BB86/92 units and keeps the same overall width as press-fit BB86 bottom brackets.

The BB86/92 thread together bottom bracket is a variation on the Wheels Manufacturing well-loved press fit BB86 bottom bracket. Two machined aluminum cups thread together ensuring that the bottom bracket remains stable in the frame increasing bearing life. This also means no more creaking, smoother operation, and quick bearing replacement. Installation couldn't be easier. Remove the press-fit unit, press the drive side cup into your frame, and thread the non-drive cup into the installed cup with a 16-notch bottom bracket tool (Wheels Manufacturing recommends either their own double sided BB wrench, FSA MegaEvo, or Park Tool BBT-29).

The Enduro ABEC-3 bearings feature high precision grade 10 chromium steel balls and are within 10/1,000,000 inch round which is twice as round as the industry standard. The 52100 high carbon chromium alloy race go through a vacuum de-gas process for the purest chromium alloy steel, are hardened to R-62, and are extremely tough and very durable. They are then polished to a mirror finish for ABEC-3 precision and noiseless movement and will run smoothly for years. Packed with a lifetime warranty, the bottom bracket is damn near impervious to creek crossings and garden hoses.
